COURSE AND EXAM FOR AMATEUR SAILORS HELD IN LEFKOŞA

The Ministry of Public Works and Transportation and the Turkish Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure jointly organised a course and exam for Amateur Sailor Document (ASD) and Short Distance Wireless (SDW).

The course and exam for ASD was organised for the second time, the first one taking place on July 13, 2019 in Gazimağusa.

Around 200 people participated in the course which will allow holders of the ASD to use motorboats up to 24 meters. Those who also hold the SDW licence will be able to use motorboats up to 24 meters with a wireless.

Speaking before the course which was held at the Grand Library of Near East University in Lefkoşa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation Kemal Bağzıbağlı said they set a target for every one in four person to become an amateur sailor until 2023.
