Kaleburnu-Sipahi Road Project- 2nd Phase, funded by the Republic of Turkey and tendered by the TRNC Department of Highways Directorate is about to be completed.
2nd phase construction works comprised of road-base and asphalt works which started in January 2019, are completed. 6km section shoulder filling works of the 7.8km road are completed while steel auto railing, concrete drainage and retaining wall construction works are ongoing.
The road is covered with 23 thousand 112 tons of plant mix base and 8 thousand 962 tons of asphalt. The concrete ditch and stone wall work on the road, as well as a thousand 400 meters auto railing pile will be made.
First phase works, which consisted of splitting, filling and sub-base works of the road, were completed on 31 May 2017. The tender of the second phase of the works was completed on 16 November 2018 and the contract was signed with the contractor company on 28 December 2018,. Kaleburnu-Sipahi road will cost approximately 7.5 million TL in total.
