The measures adopted by the TRNC government, urging social distancing to prevent the spread of new type coronavirus, have increased demand for online education, online shopping, access to online information and online communication between people both home and abroad.
On March 15, 2020, a statement was issued by our ministry indicating that the Internet Service Providers will only provide maintenance services to subscribers. However, due to the increased demand for internet access, the ISPs will begin making new installations from March 30, 2020 Monday.
The installations will be implemented with strict measures to prevent the health of both ISP personnel and the subscribers. Thus, the ISP will first obtain information on the health conditions of the residents living in the given address. The installations will be made by one personnel who will wear a protective suit, gloves and a face mask at the time of arrival to the given address. During the installation, the ISP personnel will keep a distance of minimum 2 meters with the residents of the given address. The protective suit, mask and gloves will be left outside the address once the installation is completed.
