Public Works and Transport Minister Tolga Atakan today held a meeting with the Public Vehicles Enterprises Union (KAR-İŞ) and transport licence owning business owners in the west of the Girne district at the TRNC Court of Accounts meeting room, with the aim of finding a solution to the currently unsustainable state of public transportation in the country.
Minister Atakan and the participants discussed issues about the improvements and developments that could be brought about by bringing public transportation under one umbrella.
Minister Atakan listened to the participants’ problems while also taking a note of suggestions for solutions
Atakan said the ministry was ready to provide support by taking radical steps, along with legal amendments and other steps, in order to eliminate difficulties in the sector, and gave the public transportation system in Ankara as an alternative.
