The recent period of heavy rain and high rainfall figures has exposed the insufficiency of the infrastructure in the country.
In this framework, our ministry took the initiative of collaborating with expert academics in the field, from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Lefke European University (LEU) and Middle East Technical University – North Cyprus Campus (METU-NCC). The experts have team with experts from the Highways Department to analyse the physical conditions of the country’s roads, the drainage systems and engineering structures, and their suitability to the increased rainfall.
After the analysis, any problems and construction faults will be identified and a project will be prepared to correct the problems.
