A protocol was signed today to enable the transferral of information stored at the Public Works and Transport Ministry Motor Vehicles Records Department, Vehicle Registry and Inspection Branch, and Finance Ministry Information Technology Centre, to the Insurance Information Centre of the TRNC Insurance and Reinsurance Companies Union, in an electronic format.
The protocol was signed by the Public Works and Transport Ministry Undersecretary Kemal Bağzıbağlı, Interior Ministry Director Hüseyin Amcaoğlu, Finance Ministry Information Technology Centre Director Abbas Karayel, Police General Directorate Traffic Director Hüseyin Çete, TRNC Insurance and Reinsurance Companies Union Chairman Ülker Fahri and Insurance Information Centre Cheif İbrahim Kavçın.
It will make way for the sharing of information between organisations on motorists’ identification, licence, vehicle registration, MOT, inspection, and insurance. It hopes to increase collaboration between the TRNC Insurance and Reinsurance Companies Union’s Insurance Information Centre, the Finance Ministry Information Technology Centre and the Police General Directorate. It also aims to prevent any insurance malpractice and ensure the accurate calculations of insurance payouts.
